The three-day SRO Tactical Assailant Response (S.T.A.R.) course prepares school resource officers to respond alone to active threats on school property. Through tactical training, decision-making exercises, and force-on-force scenarios, officers practice navigating school environments, assessing threats, de-escalating when appropriate, isolating threats, and using precise force near bystanders. Completion requires meeting Critical Task Evaluation standards.
