Description
The modern-day sniper role has evolved to support any mission requiring precision in any environment. Snipers are increasingly tasked with securing arenas, stadiums, and large outdoor venues; engaging at longer distances; responding to heavily armed attackers; and operating during night operations.
As missions shift from basic prone bipod shooting to the use of ultra-stable tripod platforms and other unconventional supports, advanced sniper training is essential. This 3-day Advanced Sniper course is designed to develop precision shooting from unconventional positions using tripods, barricades, and alternate support systems out to 400 yards.
Students will learn how to build stable final firing positions, select and construct hide sites, and engage targets from urban, rural, and vehicle-based hides. Officers will also learn the ballistic performance and limitations of their duty ammunition. Upon completion, students will be required to successfully pass the qualification.

- Rifle equipped with a scope with adjustable turrets capable of 1 MOA or less
- Bipod
- Adjustable sling
- 400 rounds of duty ammunition; no armor-piercing or steel-core ammunition
