This 3-Day Vehicle Containment and Arrest Course is designed for specialized law enforcement units tasked with safely stopping and apprehending suspects in moving vehicles while reducing the risks associated with vehicle and foot pursuits. The course focuses on surprised containment tactics using unmarked vehicles, operational planning, team communication, armor deployment, barricade operations, de-escalation strategies, and vehicle-based arrest techniques.

This three-day course examines the principles, mission planning, and operational challenges associated with containing vehicles in transit. Designed for specialized law enforcement units, the course emphasizes “surprised containment” tactics utilizing unmarked vehicles to safely and effectively plan and execute arrests.
The course focuses on reducing vehicle and foot pursuits while managing and mitigating risks to the public. Students will learn how to limit suspect mobility, de-escalate evolving situations, and safely transition into vehicle barricade operations through the deployment of armored vehicles and specialized vehicle-based tactics and tools.
Through practical exercises and scenario-based training, participants will develop the skills necessary to coordinate team movement, communicate effectively, and conduct vehicle suppression and arrest procedures in high-risk operational environments.

Required Equipment
- Eye protection
- 50 rounds of SIMS / NLTA ammunition (.223 or 9mm per student)
- NLTA protective equipment including face, groin, neck, and hand protection
- No short-sleeve shirts
- Gloves
- Full callout gear and soft gear
- 300 rounds of .223 ammunition
- 100 rounds of handgun ammunition
- One 40mm or 12-gauge less-lethal munition and chemical option
- Weather-appropriate clothing, including clothing suitable for concealment in rural environments
